Prophylaxis against malaria

Printer-friendly version

Malaria is a mosquito-borne infectious disease that occurs in a number of countries. The severe form of the disease can be fatal if not treated promptly. Depending on your destination, it might be advisable to take preventive medication against malaria.

To check whether this medication is recommended for your destination, simply consult the Destinations at a Glance tool. If malaria prophylaxis is found in the section "Recommended for certain travellers" for a particular country, the risk of malaria could depend on the region visited or the season.
